When making your decision to apply for membership,
please keep in mind that there are two categories of
membership: the “Society” which makes public
appearances and raises funds on behalf of the Bergen
County SPCA; and the “Law Enforcement Division” that
enforces New Jersey State Title IV Animal Cruelty Laws.
To qualify for membership in either the “Society” or the
“Law Enforcement Division”, you must live in Bergen
County or in an adjacent town. You must be 21 years of
age and in good health (a doctor's examination may be
required for membership). Knowledge regarding the care
and well-being of animals is desired.
MEMBERSHIP IN THE “SOCIETY”
Membership in the “Society” is open. If you are
interested, complete the Membership Application and mail
it along with your check for $25.00 made payable to the
Bergen County SPCA to PO Box 4111, So. Hackensack, NJ
07601. You will be contacted by a member of the Badge &
Membership committee shortly.
MEMBERSHIP IN THE “LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION”
Officers and Agents-in-Training of the Bergen County
SPCA are unpaid professionals who go through
extensive training in investigative techniques,
self-defense, report writing and the recognition of
animal cruelty.
Although no law enforcement experience is required, it
is desirable. Knowledge regarding the care and
well-being of animals is also desired.
Membership in the “Law Enforcement Division” is
open.

current passport photographs to the address below. The
next time membership interviews are held, you will be
contacted to come in for an interview.
